Corona Virus Update

With the increase in the threat of Coronavirus (Covid-19), please be assured that Thomas Miller Auctioneers is prioritising the safety of our clients as well as all those who work with us and for us. We are monitoring government advice, as well as advice from the World Health Organisation [WHO].

We now have to accept that it is no longer business as usual and it is clear that we are going to have to shift a few things around to help us cope.

With immediate effect and until further notice we will no longer be opening on Sunday mornings. We appreciate the inconvenience this will cause as this is by far our busiest viewing period. We will be open to view on Monday between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm allowing total footfall to be spread over a full 8 hour window and thus decreasing congestion in the viewing rooms which we sometimes experience on a Sunday morning.

Our next auction will take place on Tuesday 24 March 2020 at 11.00 am.

There are many ways in which you can take part in this auction without actually having to attend the premises. This is what we are now encouraging.

By visiting our website www.millersauctioneers.co.uk all lots can be viewed, condition reports requested, bids can be left prior to the sale or bidding can be carried out live.

Commission bids can also be taken over the telephone or via email and executed on your behalf.

As regards to the valuation and selling of items, please use the valuation feature on our website. We are still conducting house calls although we will not be shaking hands or giving out business cards. We request that customers with infection concerns let us know so that appointments can be postponed.

With regard to the payment of bills, this can be done over the telephone (for amounts less than £500) or via BACS payment for larger amounts. Payments made in person with cash will still be accepted but are being discouraged. Card payments are preferred.

Again, we believe that in this digital age it is possible (even normal) to go through the whole purchase process without having to attend the salerooms at all. Purchased goods can be delivered locally using our own vans and couriers can be instructed for deliveries further afield. The policy of charging storage fees for uncleared lots has been suspended.

While Covid-19 presents an enormous challenge, we would like to assure you that Millers will take every step to offer a full service to guide and assist you. If you need help at any stage of the registration, bidding or consignment process, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are extremely fortunate here to have both tremendous customers and great staff. This is a hugely challenging time and we will only get through this if we work together. Thank you for your support. Stay safe.
